40k predator
Could somone explain in a simpe way of how vehicle combat works in warhammer 40k. Exsample of fight below.?
So I have a battle going on. With a 500 point Space marine squad and a 500 point Ork Squad. The orcs heli (vehicle) is attacking the space marines predator (another vehicle) and im trying to figure out how to start with the rolls etc.
Okay so a Space Marine A-Pred (Annihilator) on a Dethkopta,
Well the first thing you need to know is that a Dethkopta is not a vehicle, but a A-Pred is. So if the A-Pred is firing on the Dethkopta.
This is if either vehicle or kopta hasn't moved. Since the A-Pred hasn't moved it can fire all its weapons. The A-Pred fires at the kopta it hits (lets just say....) with its main cannon and side lascannon sponson. The lascannon causes instant death to the kopta so it wounds on anything but
(9>4x2) and will destroy the kopta.
How-ever if the kopta moved flat out it willl gain a 3+ cover-save from moving so fast.
If the A-Pred moved 6" or less it can fire one weapon and all defensive weapons or if the A-Pred moved 12" it can fire nothing
Now lets say that the Dethkopta fired a Rokkit at the A-Pred. Roll to hit like normal, (the kopta most likely won't) but lets say you do. You can be firing at the front (13) side (11) or back (10) of the A-Pred, pick the side you are firing at. If you are firing at the front, roll a D6 and the weapons strength to the roll. If its higher than the vehicles armour (6) you penitrated. 5 you glanced,and 4 and lower you did nothing. Then you go to the vehicle damage table. Roll a D6 and see what happens. If you glance -2 from the roll.
The Table
1- Crew Shaken- vehicle cannot shoot in the vehicles next shooting phase
2- Crew Stunned- vehicle cannot move or shoot in the next turn
3 Weapon Destroyed- The attacker picks a weapon on the enemy vehicle, that weapon is destroyed, and cannot, fire for the rest of the game. (Unless repaired by a Enginseer, etc.)
4- Immobilized- Vehicle cannot move for the rest of the game. (again unless reapaired)
5- Wrecked- Vehicle Destroyed
6- Explosion- Vehicle explodes d6" anything that is in that d6" takes a S3 AP- hit or if they are inside the vehicle, they take a S4 AP- hit.
So thats the basic rules for vehicle combat
